IRCC has approved four new English language tests for SDS study permits in Canada.
Canada has long been known for its welcoming immigration policies, high-quality education, and welcoming student atmosphere. Every year, a huge number of international students come to Canada to study after meeting all of the prerequisites. If you want to study in Canada, there is some good news for you. The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the approval of four additional English language examinations for new SDS (Student Direct Stream) applications. All four assessments should demonstrate competence in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. This will take effect on August 10, 2023.
The following tests have recently been accepted for study in Canada on an SDS visa:
-
CELPIP General
-
PTE Academic
-
CAEL
-
TOEFL iBT Test
Furthermore, the minimum scores for each of these scores are specified. PTE Academic and CAEL test scores must be at least 60. Candidates taking the CELPIP general test must have a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 83 and an individual band score of 7. These examinations must be taken in person because online exams will not be acceptable for SDS visa applications.
